Air conditioning and heating systems are commonly used in both residential and commercial buildings, commonly controlled by thermostats. People using these systems may leave doors or windows open for various reasons, causing the air conditioning or heating system to operate at a nearly continuous level. This creates high electricity consumption, leaving a door or window open will prevent the interior environment from reaching the temperature set on the thermostat.

This is a common problem in hotels,were the occupants are not responsible for the high electricity costs. Typically, each room has a separate air conditioning unit. The rooms may have a balcony for the use and enjoyment of the guests. A real problem exists in hotels in that the guest will have set the thermostat down to a cool temperature and then leave the balcony doors, or rooms windows open. In such cases, the air conditioner will run non-stop, yet the cooled air will be lost to the exterior environment.

Upon opening the rooms patio doors or windows the Door Sensa will send a signal to deactivate the Aircon instantly or on a delay time. Once the doors are closed another signal will be sent to reactivate the room’s Airconditioning..
